Thyrsos was formed by followers of the Hellenic Religion. They fight for its Restoration, its legal recognition in Hellas, defend the original authentic pre-Christian tradition, and contribute to the spread of the Hellenic Civilization worldwide.

Discussion Guidelines Clarification
I would have presumed, based on the last great debate over what is and is not Hellenismos, and the subsequent forum announcement several months ago, that there would be an understanding of the intent and purpose of this website. I was wrong. I am writing this statement to further clarify the guidelines of this website, and some of the accepted definitions we use.

The House and the Family
excerpt from Greek Popular Religion, by Martin P. Nilsson (1940)
A great scholar has graphically described Artemis as the goddess of the outdoors (Göttin des Draussen). Untamed nature may be lovely and beneficent, but, on the other hand, it may be terrible and frightful. The desert wilderness, the rugged mountains, the deep ravines, the precipitous torrents, and the thick forests inspire awe in man. Among them he feels himself subject to unknown and dangerous powers. There the wild beasts which attack him and his herds roam about, and robbers may lurk in the glens. “It is better at home, for it is dangerous outdoors” is an old Greek saying, found in Hesiod and in the Homeric Hymn to Hermes. 1 Within the walls of his house, man feels himself secure, protected from dangers which threaten without. The ancient Greeks would have understood what we mean when we say, “A man’s house is his castle.” In the beginning of the work of Thucydides there is a vivid description of how unsafe life was in early times because of robbers and pirates.

Beyond Opinion: Orthopraxy and Personal Theologies
When speaking about Hellenismos, it is said that Hellenismos has no absolute or strict doctrine. While our religion is identified by a basic theology and the use of and adherence to specific traditions, sacred texts, and mythology, personal theologies are acceptable. Hellenismos though, at the end of the day, is more a religion of abstract ideas and values, developed through both personal and communal experiences (emphasizing the qualitative value of the practical, emotional, insightful, and ethical), rather than a formal doctrine, dogma, or canon.

Hellenismos.us: A Month in Review
It has been one month since Hellenismos.us went online, and what a month it has been. Hellenismos.us exists because we feel that there is an urgent need for networking, communication, and unity within our religious community. If this first month is any indication of our future success, then this website will have no problem accomplishing its mission. I want to thank all those who have taken time to visit, to join, to participate in our forum, and those who created blogs. We plan to share with you the incredible statistics from our first month, and share with you the positive direction we are going.

Welcome to Hellenismos.us
My first blog post, I guess, should be a brief summary of why I created this website.
When I created the Mind-N-Magick website, I wrote the mission to state, “It is the result of our desire to aid in creating an atmosphere which offers better communications between the many Occult, Pagan, Mystical and Magickal schools of thought (both Eastern and Western) in existence today.” Additionally, I wrote, “{Mind-N-Magick] exists because we feel that there is an urgent need for networking, communications and unity within our wide and diverse Pagan community. It has been built on the premise that: Without knowing that others exist, and where to find them, we are alone.” I have create Hellenismos.us under that same banner of creating a website that provides better communication, networking, and unity, but this time specifically for the Hellenismos movement.
